To date, under the Concession, ASMA
is credited with the installation
and management of 51 continuous air
quality monitoring stations (CAQM) and 15 continuous water quality monitoring
stations (CWQM) including
managing more than 930 manual water
quality monitoring stations covering
most of the river basins in the country
and 25 manual air quality stations
located throughout the nation.
ASMA invested in the early years
in acquiring the necessary technical expertise
from North America to implement successfully
the above programme including a stringent
quality control which is an essential
component to ensure the data collected
are accurate and useful. Over the
past seven years, the technology is
now fully transferred and local Malaysian
scientists and engineers in the company
can carry on
serving the government including extending
its services to the industries and
to expand regionally as well. With
a staff strength of 100 of which more
than half are scientists and engineers,
the company is geared to be the
country's premier Total Environmental
Solutions Provider
To remain in the forefront of this
industry, ASMA recognises the need
to contribute and participate in cutting
edge research and development. ASMA’s
foray into R&D has mainly been in the form of joint/collaboration
in research projects, working closely
with renowned professors and researchers
from leading universities in prioritised
areas of environmental research. |
